Avtron's AV485 encoders are robust devices suitable for challenging environments. These magnetic solid shaft encoders can be easily mounted to your application, either on the foot or NEMA 56C face/flange. With large bearings and an ultra-wide stance, they excel in tough applications like pulleys. The AV485 is built to endure extreme conditions, including being buried in slag, coated in pulp, or exposed to salt water or cutting coolants, while maintaining reliable operation.

Features:

  • Protection from: short circuit and reverse voltage, surges
  • Resistant to noise interference with large sensor air gap
  • Cable lengths up to 300m
  • Encapsulated electronics IP67
  • Max 5000 rpm
  • Max temp 120C

Diagnostic status indication. A Green LED signals correct alignment with the rotor and reading signal. If the AV5 cannot produce consistent signals, the LED turns Red, activating an optional remote alarm contact. Despite this, the encoder continues to function, giving time to schedule service. An Orange LED indicates errors such as wiring issues or over-temperature conditions.

The AV485 is designed to match the bolt pattern and shaft location of older analog and digital models, facilitating easy upgrades. For a hollow shaft design, refer to the AV685 model.
