Posital 20mm IXARC Miniature Multiturn Magnetic Encoder Available at PCA Australia!
Posital has recently released a range of magnetic encoders for space-restricted installations, the miniature 20mm IXARC multiturn magnetic encoders.
These tiny encoders are roughly 31mm in total housing length and provide the full performance of a standard encoder, however, at a fraction of the form factor of other encoders.
These encoders' compact design is enabled by Posital’s Tunnel Magnetoresistance (TMR), a sensing technology that provides 19-bit single-turn resolution. The onboard sensing module is supported by an advanced signal-processing ASIC that delivers precise interpolation and multiturn data handling while minimising power requirements.
The 20mm models are effectively maintenance-free, with battery-free Wiegand-based rotation-counting technology. This system essentially harvests energy during a full shaft rotation and generates a Wiegand pulse, providing sufficient electrical energy to power the internal counting electronics.
These small encoders feature a standard corrosion-resistant stainless-steel enclosure with various solid and hollow shaft options. These encoders can be positioned in radial or axial orientations, with a connector clip that allows the cable exit to be oriented accordingly.
These tiny encoders support the BiSS C and SSI protocols, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of industrial motion controllers and drive systems.
The Posital 20mm IXARC models are kit encoders that are cost-effective and reliable, enabling users to mount them in incredibly confined spaces and are well-suited for robotics, medical instrumentation, precise mechatronic assemblies, and compact actuators.
