Encoder Direction and Standstill Monitor

The DZ210 is a small DIN-rail speed monitor designed to accurately identify the direction of rotation and standstill on machinery, drives, and motors. It may operate in single-track mode and accepts a universal pulse input from all common incremental encoders and measuring systems, such as A/B, 90° (HTL) or A/A̅, B/B̅ (RS422). State changes are recorded very quickly thanks to the support for input frequencies up to 500 kHz and the extremely quick reaction time of less than 1 ms above 1 kHz.
The setup is simple: two front-mounted DIL switches are used to select input characteristics and the standstill definition, and plug-in screw terminals are used for connections. The DZ210 has two short-circuit-proof transistor outputs with high-side drivers in addition to two potential-free change-over relay contacts (clockwise, counter-clockwise, and zero-motion/standstill signalling).
It is simple to integrate into any control cabinet since it uses a 17–30 VDC supply and clips straight into a top-hat DIN rail (EN 60715) without the need for additional mounting gear or tools.
