IECEx Zone 2 & 22 Absolute Multiturn Hollow Shaft Encoder

From POSITAL's IXARC line, the OCF-S101G-0812-B150-CRE is a 20-bit multiturn optical absolute encoder with 12-bit singleturn and 8-bit multiturn, or 4,096 points per revolution over 256 revolutions. Because multiturn tracking uses mechanical gearing, position is maintained without power and there is no need to change batteries. Using RS422 drivers, it displays the position in greyscale over SSI. You can reverse the counting direction or zero the output at the current shaft position using preset and direction (DIR) inputs. For hazardous zones 2 and 22, it has received ATEX approval. There is no requirement for a coupling because the ø 15 mm blind hollow shaft slips directly onto the driven shaft. In addition to saving space and allowing for minor misalignment, an auxiliary clamping ring (B15) is offered. The IP65 sealing and coated steel housing are suitable for dusty, moist and corrosive environments seen in heavy industry, transportation and mining. In areas with limited axial space, the 1 m PVC cable exits the housing radially.
