IECEx Zone 2 & 22 Absolute Singleturn/Multiturn Solid Shaft Encoder

The AX700 is a flameproof absolute rotary encoder from W+S (Global Encoder Systems) for potentially explosive atmospheres. Its stainless steel body, lid and shaft carry Ex "db" flameproof protection for gas and firedamp mines and Ex "tb" protection for dust. It covers mining and Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22, and offers 1–16 bit singleturn and 1–20 bit multiturn resolution. You can configure it to your control system: SSI (binary or Gray code) is the usual choice for PLCs and drives, and parallel, CANopen, analogue and other interfaces are also available. A solid shaft of ø 6–20 mm is standard, with a blind hollow shaft as an option. The heavy-duty IP66/IP67 construction suits mining, offshore, process and other hazardous-area machinery. Cable is factory-fitted (2 m or 10 m), with a flame-retardant, chemically resistant jacket.
