SIL2 & PLd Safety Certified Ring Encoders for Heavy Duty Applications – TWK LBET Ring Encoders
Supreme Sensing TWK LBET Ring Encoders are now available from PCA Encoders.
The TWK LBET ring encoders are SIL2 (IEC-61508) and PLd (ISO 13849) safety-certified, ideal for OEMs designing heavy-duty equipment or upgrading/retrofitting existing heavy-duty equipment to SIL2 and PLd certification.
The LBET encoders are non-contact absolute hollow shaft encoders that provide high-precision position data via electromagnetic induction, making them an effectively wear-free sensor system immune to environmental interference from moisture, oil, dust, and vibration.
The LBET ring encoders are designed with interface options with SSI or BiSS for motor feedback and FSoE or PROFIsafe for safety-based monitoring. These systems were selected because they can provide the shortest feedback delay, enabling systems to respond quickly in the event of mechanical failure and promoting the safety of onsite workers.
The LBET ring encoders offer resolutions from 12 to 22 bits, providing over 4 million steps per 360° rotation.
The LBET ring encoders range from 50mm to 220mm in diameter, are ideal for direct mounting in robotics, and can be applied to a pivot gear for larger, heavy-duty equipment. These encoders also feature options for stainless steel or seawater-proof aluminium, depending on the intended application's needs.
