Motrona Safety Relays
Designed to protect operators and machinery in demanding environments, it reliably monitors mission-critical machine movements. The Motrona safety device range covers safety relay, safety speed monitoring and safety motion monitoring.
This range is used to monitor specifics of a moving aspect within an application, including overspeed and underspeed, direction of rotation, standstill, position, slip, breakage, torsion and drift.
This system is designed to monitor and report these aspects, and in the event that these fall outside the set parameters, Motrona safety relays will cut power to the application, bringing the machine to a ‘safe state’ where errors can be addressed before continuing production again.
Motrona safety device feature certifications such as SIL3/Ple and SIL2/PLd in accordance with EN61508 & ISO 13849, and can be used in high-demand, high-risk applications.

Motrona MS640
A four digital control input & 6 logical control inputs, suitable for monitoring over & under speed, standstill, direction of rotation, slip, shaft or gearbox fracture and impermissible motion.
Motrona DS250
Designed for safety control & safety monitoring for incremental encoders & sensors, the DS250 features SIL3 & PLe certification (depending on encoder/sensor arrangement).
Motrona DS260
The Motrona DS260 is a safety relay designed for monitoring motion parameters like speed and direction. The DS260 features a base certification of SIL2 and PLd. However, the DS260 can achieve a higher safety level of SIL3 and PLe when used with a SIL3-certified incremental encoder, as it is designed to work within a complete safety chain.
The Motrona safety relays should be considered a quintessential aspect of any production application as a precautionary system to prevent catastrophic failures that can harm operators and halt production.
